SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (JAVA).
We have an opening for a PART TIME (20 hrs/wk for 1-3 year contract) Senior Software Developer specializing in Java web applications development in an enterprise environment. This individual will provide custom software development service in support of new and existing projects associated with a suite of web applications in operation at a government medical facility. This individual will design, implement, and document full featured, enterprise class, web and database driven online application systems. This individual will work in collaboration with team members to ensure project deliverables, working from a specific set of clinical/technical requirements. Participate in meetings to determine priorities, application design specifications, and timelines associated with projects. Individuals must be able to exercise independent professional judgment while upholding client requirements.
Full lifecycle development includes design, development, production and maintenance. Create applications from conception (entity/relationship and data flow diagrams) to deployment using UML principles. Utilize advanced knowledge of Apache web server, C#, J2EE, Java, IIS, .Net, ADO, LDAP, Servlets, HTML, Win2k, Web services, MVC Application frameworks and various web application tools to develop dynamic database (oracle 10g) and .Net driven applications, portlets, and web pages.
Individuals must meet the minimum requirements for further consideration:
*Be able to show proof of ability to work in the United States.
*Must be able to pass a background investigation.
*Bachelor's Degree in CS, Engineering, or other technical field.
*3 years experience developing one or more enterprise Java web applications using Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Jasper Reports and web services, to include architecture integration.
*Web applications developed must have been in use by 100 or more concurrent users on a daily basis.
*Software development on a minimum of two (2) enterprise projects which used open source web services.
*Software development on a minimum of two (2) enterprise Java web application projects using the Eclipse IDE and Tomcat J2EE container
*Strong attention to detail and documentation, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
*Be able to work onsite in the Tacoma area
